Former chief Ankara-West prosecutor and candidate member of High Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HCJP) Murat Gökçe was sentenced to 8 years 9 months in prison over the pretext of terrorism charges on 28 September 2018.
Gökçe denied accusations and requested his release. However, special terror court sentenced him and ruled continuation of his detention during appeal process.
