Plenary Penal Session of the Court of Cassation upheld the 13 years imprisonment for former judge and member of Council of State Bülent Olcay on 1 November 2019. Olcay is known his protest against the statue which ended the “supreme court judge” status of then-supreme court judges. To protest this law, he had hanged his tog at the court window.

Plenary Penal Session of the Court of Cassation upheld the13 years imprisonment for former judge and member of Council of State Bülent Olcay on 1 November 2019. He has been kept in solitary confinement in prison since July 2016.

He was known his protest Erdogan’s effort to dominate the judiciary by hanging his tog at the court window.
