Former judge Ekrem Ertuğrul, former 9. Division Chief of Court of Cassation (Supreme Appeal Court) was sentenced to 3 years 9 months in prison over the pretext of terrorism charges on 3 October 2019. He was in charge of Ergenekon/Balyoz (alleged anti-west deep state) case while he was working for Court of Cassation.
